VIBRATION
Illingworth & Rodkin provides vibration services including testing, criteria selection, design development, and equipment. Depending on the application, both active and passive vibration isolation methods can be evaluated. Typical applications include the selection of appropriate building vibration criteria for facilities that house vibration-sensitive equipment and processes, the design of measures to protect vibration-sensitive tools operating in a vibration prone environment (aligners, electron microscopes, laser systems, scanners, steppers, etc.), limiting vibration exposure to occupants in the vicinity of major transportation facilities (residential uses adjacent to railroads and highways or on top of subways), and limiting vibration exposure to plant personnel from turbo-machinery and other high-energy impact equipment (compressors, crushers, fans, forging hammers, generators, presses, etc.). Testing is performed using precision, portable vibration data collection and analysis systems. I & R also has the capability to perform long-term monitoring often required for transportation facilities and construction projects.
